Buried in Earthskin follows Cape Town journalist and director Helena Kingwill on a journey of discovery as she sets off on a road trip to follow the route the nuclear waste trucks take from the Koeberg nuclear power plant just outside of Cape Town to the Vaalputs Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility in Namaqualand. Along the way she meets the men and women of the Nama-Khoi tribe who live nearby and listens to their stories of accidents at the dump and their fears of the underground water becoming polluted.
